Today we drove up the center of the north island to the volcanic region of Lake Taupo.
We saw this interesting cookie store on the way.
Some of the large volcanic mountains we passed. There are supposed to be some interesting hikes up at the top but we did not have time.
Our first view of the vast Lake Taupo.
We stopped for a quick look at Huka Falls.
Next it was on to the Craters of the Moon, with its steaming hot water pools, some small geysers and mud pots.
